We are so excited for our Elhanan’s Celtic Moon, 2022 purebred Connemara Pony filly by Redbuds Blue Moon out of Searah’s Celtic Legacy. Inquisitive and intelligent with an in-your-pocket, people loving disposition, correct type, good bone, and a lovely mover assure this filly will be an amazing performance partner in any discipline. But this little filly has a powerhouse performance pedigree to bring to your breeding program!

Sired by R. Blue Moon, a 14.3H true black high-quality, athletic, and correct Connemara Pony stallion who is the breeder's choice for consistent quality and outstanding performance potential. Among Blue’s first crops are 12 progeny selected for USEA/FEH Championships in all three regions, many with scores exceeding 80%. R Blue Moon was shown very lightly in 2014 and 2015 qualifying both as a yearling and two year old for USEA West Coast Future Event Horse Championships. In 2016 R Blue Moon attended the USEA/Priefert Young Event Horse Chute Jumping Clinic where he very gamely Free Jumped with the 3yo (3ft 7in /1.1m, set on a horse stride). His Free Jumping Video which appeared on both the USEA Website and Eventing Nation was a social media smash hit with over 14 thousand views world-wide.

Following this enormously successful outing, Blue again qualified for West Coast Championships, where he finished out his 3yo Season by Placing 3rd in the 3yo Colts Division and 6th Place overall (against horses of all breeds). Both his remarkable scores and comments indicate a bright future both as a top quality eventing prospect as well as a breeding stallion. In his final outing of 2016, R Blue Moon attended the West Coast Regional Breed show where he was named Overall Breed Supreme Champion, Connemara Stallion Champion and Futurity Champion.

R Blue Moons pedigree represents some of the finest performance Connemara Pony genetics available in North America. His sire Wildwych Eclipse was a Star Award Stallion with the ISR/OLD NA Sport Pony Division, esteemed not only for his own competitive achievements but also for his brilliant performing offspring. In 2010, Wildwych Eclipse garnered international acclaim while serving as Breed Ambassador for the Connemara Pony at the World Equestrian Games. Wildwych Eclipse has been named a USEF leading sire in three disciplines: Eventing, Dressage and Show Jumping. Four of Wildwych Eclipses offspring have earned USEF/ACPS Horse of the Year Titles (HOTY).

R Blue Moon’s dam is the exceptional imported mare *Glenormiston Amelia. Before leaving Australia, Amelia was named high scoring filly at her International Stud Book Inspection. In 2007, Glenormiston Amelia was the first US mare to attain the title Premium Mare with the ACPS. In 2009, Amelia also earned the title Special Premium with German Oldenburg Verband Weser Ems Pony Division, the equivalent to the States Premium or Elite mare title. At her performance test, Amelia was awarded the highest marks achieved by any mare for the entire test. Amelia's offspring include not only Premium daughters but also two registered stallion sons as well as Pony Dressage and International Show Jumping superstars. One of her daughters was exported to France where she competes at the Grand Prix Level. Amelias own sire is the legendary Domo Cavallo Praize, not only a true family pony but also the sire of numerous outstanding high performance offspring including the FEI Four Star Event Horse Feldale Mouse, Pony of the Year Dressage Champion, Capparis High Roller and graded Show Jumper Glenormiston Patrick (4.9ft). Amelia’s 2nd dam sire is Abbeyleix Finbar (3/4 brother to Stallions Coosheen Finn and Leam Bobby Finn). Finbar is well noted for the beauty and quality of his daughters as well as his many successful performance offspring. Finbars progeny include International Eventing , Show Jumping and Dressage Horses and Ponies. Abbeyliex Finbar is also the grand sire of Just Lately who contested World Cup Show Jumping in Australia.

Searah’s Celtic Legacy, "Penny" is a 2016 14.2H gray Connemara mare by Tullymor’s Mountain Thunder out of Good Earth Victory Go Bragh by Hideaway’s Erin Go Bragh X Grange Finn Sparrow. Tullymor’s Mountain Thunder, by Tullymor’s Flying Ace out of Kahula, “Delmar”, born June 22, 1999, is 14.1 H with an impressive 8.5in bone and is a wonderful stallion who’s offspring are exceptional movers with excellent conformation.

Penny’s dam sire, Hideaway Farm’s talented stallion Erin Go Bragh was undoubtedly one of the most well-known Connemara Ponies in recent history. Despite his size—about 15.2h—he was an immensely successful eventer. In a competitive career that spanned more than a decade, Erin Go Bragh represented the Connemara Pony breed in driving as well as eventing. In addition to competing successfully at Advanced level, he also sired more than 200 foals, had a starring role in the children’s documentary “The Little Horse That Could”, and received the honor of being named Breyer Horse of the Year in 1988. Erin Go Bragh passed away in 2013 but his descendants continue his legacy of athletic success.

Penny’s grand-dam’s sire, Grange Finn Sparrow, had two of his offspring made it to the 4* level, contesting Rolex Kentucky, and many, many more competed at the upper levels. Seven offspring, both purebred and halfbred Connemaras, made it to the Advanced level. He has sired individuals that competed in upper level dressage, one of whom was in Lendon Gray's Dressage 4 Kids program; top jumpers, Pony Finals contenders, foxhunters and even a son that competed on Allison Stroud's famous four-in-hand driving team.

Located in Hodges, SC. $10,500. (Preference given for performance and/or breeding home)
